John Franklin Vincze
February 10 1957 - January 1 2017

This online memorial was created in loving memory of John Vincze, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign John's guest book and let us know you came to visit.

John Franklin Vincze, 59, died on January 1, 2017 with his loving family at his bedside at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after a long illness.  He was born February 10, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio to John Vincze and Marion Dardenne Vincze.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Vincze of Georgetown Texas. He is survived by his mother, Marion Cason of Boerne, Texas and sons, Jonathan Vincze (22) of San Diego, California and Jason Vincze (19) of Plano, Texas.  Also surviving are his sisters, Julie Vincze Sanderson of Montgomery, Texas and Johanna Vincze Webb of Boerne, Texas, and many loving nephews and nieces.

John grew up in Clear Lake City, Texas and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1975.  He earned a BBA and an MS in Accounting from the University of Houston and remained a lifelong Cougars fan. He lived most of his adult years in the Dallas area (Irving and Plano) and had recently relocated to Boerne, Texas to be near family.

He started his accounting career at Price Waterhouse in Houston and worked for a variety of notable firms throughout his 35+ year career, including Lone Star Steel, Trinity Industries, Arcus Technology Services, and Ernst and Young. He retired from NationStar Mortgage Holdings in 2015 as the Vice President of Tax.

John enjoyed golf, snow skiing, Hungarian cooking, puttering on projects around the house, Houston Cougar and Pittsburgh Steeler football, and watching his sons’ sporting events.  He will be dearly missed by those that knew him and loved him. His wish was to have his ashes scattered at sea near Santa Barbara, CA where he spent many happy days visiting and golfing with his father.  The family will honor that wish later in the Spring.

John will be remembered for his devotion to his two sons, his delicious cooking, and his silly sense of humor. Please visit the slide show to share the family's cherished memories of him.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the American Liver Foundation (http://www.liverfoundation.org/) and notes of condolence to the family in care of Ms. Marion Cason, 224 Chisholm Drive, Boerne, Texas 78006.

John (Johnny to his family) was the first born child to John and Marion Vincze on Feb. 10, 1957.

He was the first born grandchild in Marion's family and he was adored!

Little sister, Julie, arrived 2 years later in 1959.  She would go on to drive him crazy, as little sisters do...

Johnny loved to wear hats as a little boy.

Dad, Johnny and Julie on vacation.

Baby sister, Johanna, arrived in 1964.

John loved to build model rockets.  However, he was annoyed when his sisters frequently broke them...

Gran-Gran, Johnny, Julie and Johanna all dressed up for church.

Johnny is all packed for boyscout camp.

Johnny loved to race the go-kart he kept at Gran-Gran's house.

Sült Szalonna involves roasting salt pork over an open fire. Dad was the "Grand Poo-bah" (firepit master) and John was the poo-bah in training.
